What is the solution to -3/4 x + 2 ≤ -7 ?
Dvinal [7]

Answer:

x ≥ 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: subtract 2 from both sides

Now you have; -3/4 x ≤ -9

Step 2: divide both sides by -3/4

Now you have x ≥ 12

(when dividing an inequality by a negative you have to flip the sign)

Therefore the answer is x ≥ 12

A triangle has sides with lengths of 5x-7,3x-4 and 2x-6. What is the perimeter of the triangle?
boyakko [2]
The perimeter is the sum of all the sides, so P = (5x -7) + (3x-4) + (2x -6). Then group like terms so you have p = 5x + 3x + 2x -7-4-6 and end up with P = 10x - 17

Solve the following algebraic equation using appropriate
Neko [114]
( x + 1 )/ 3 = x + 2
Multiply 3 on both sides
x + 1 = 3x + 6
Subtract 6 on both sides
x - 5 = 3x
Subtract x from both sides
-5 = 2x
Divide 2 from both sides
x = -2.5

Reggie has $36.40 in nickels and $36.40 in dimes. What is the ratio of the number of nickels to the number of dimes that Reggie
Dmitry [639]

D 2:1, because a dime is worth twice as much as a nickel

Because the question has number of nickels listed first in the ratio that makes the answer 2:1 as opposed to B 1:2. Also, two nickels equal the same amount as one dime so for every two nickels there is one dime. In this case, there are 728 nickels and 364 dimes. 728/364 = 2/1 (simplifies down to the fourth ratio given)

Write an equation: The sides of a rectangle are x and ( x - 4 ). The perimeter is 87
Svetlanka [38]

The perimeter of a rectangle, is all of the sides added up.

In a rectangle, there are two widths (right and left), and two lengths (up and down)

So:

Perimeter = 2 × width + 2 × length.

To get the equation we just substitute in the values that we are given:

length = (x)

width = (x - 4)

perimeter = 87

So just put these values into: perimeter = 2 × width + 2 × length:

87  =  2(x) + 2(x - 4)

_____________________________

Answer:

The equation is:       87 = 2(x) + 2(x - 4)

(note: this can be simplified down like so:

87 = 2x + 2x - 8

87 = 4x - 8

95 = 4x

23.75 = x

)
