Answer:

I would say maybe.

Explanation:

It literally depends on the environments and their surrounding. Also, it can genetic mutations. For example, my friend has greenish hazel eyes while her parents/grandparents don't (btw she's fully asian). This can be due to the environment surrounding her or the cause of genetic mutation. I do feel like genetic mutations are the ones causing us to evolve.

To explain furthermore, the environment can trigger or cause humans to evolve. For example, we all started in Africa, but do you ever wonder how white people became white people? Well, it's because of the cold climate around them. The Africans moved to Europe and stayed there for more than 100 years, and because of that their eyes, skin, lips became lighters.

Lastly, if you have not adapted to the environment around you, there's a good chance mutation and evolving will come along to help humans survive.

According to my AP biology teacher, humans are still evolving they just don’t have as many forces of natural selection. Because of technical advancements we don’t have many natural predators, besides ourselves. Because of modern medicine we no longer need to rely on survival of the fittest. But we still have natural disasters that affect human mortality. And so long as humans continue to use sexual reproduction, which basically means you choose your partners based partially on physical traits, there will still be human evolution. It has to do with physical looks and physical health. The people with better health will live longer and have a higher chance of reproducing. Basically the more attractive people with better immune systems and less generic disposition to disease will reproduce more and continue to change the gene pool. So we are still evolving and changing as a species, just differently than before and differently than other species might.

erastova [34]

The heart would be one of the most affected organs if the mitochondria do not produce enough energy, since this organ requires a lot of energy, so any supply failure leads to heart failure and contraction failure.

What are mitochondria?

They are the cellular structures responsible for supplying most of the energy necessary for cellular activity.

Characteristics of mitochondria

 • They produce energy from the metabolism of organic fuels such as sugars, lipids (fatty acids) and amino acids.

 • Insufficient energy production by the mitochondria causes dilated cardiomyopathy, where the heart undergoes significant dilation and loses the force of contraction.

Therefore, we can conclude that a defect in a mitochondrial process involved in energy production would affect heart cells causing dilated cardiomyopathy, heart failure.
