The degree of the polynomial function f(x) is 4. The roots of the equation f(x)=0 are −2, −1, 1 and 3.
Sergio [31]

Answer:

f(x) = x^4 - x^3 - 7x^2 + x + 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Please, always share the instructions with every question you post.  I am assuming that you are to write out the factors corresponding to the given roots, thus constructing a 4th degree polynomial, and then performng the multiplication necesssary to produce that polynomial with terms in descending order by power of x.  Note that there must be 5 such terms.

f(x) = (x + 2)(x + 1)(x - 1)(x - 3)

Multiplying this out, we get:

f(x) = (x + 2)(x^2 - 1)(x - 3), or

f(x) =      (x^3 - x + 2x^2 - 2)(x - 3), or:

f(x) = (x^3 + 2x^2 - x - 2)(x - 3), or:

f(x) = x^4 + 2x^3 - x^2 - 2x - 3x^3 - 6x^2 + 3x + 6

Combining like terms, we get:

f(x) = x^4 - x^3 - 7x^2 + x + 6

Note that because this is a 4th degree polynomial, the end behavior resembles that of the graph of y = x^4.  As x increases, y initially decreases in Quadrant II, passes through the y-intercept (0, 6), and then increases without bound in Quadrant I.

<u>ANSWER: </u>

x − intercept is (\frac{8}{3}, 0) , y − intercept is (0,8).

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given, linear equation is y = 3x – 8 --eqn (1)

We need to find x – intercept and y – intercept i.e. where the line meets x – axis and y – axis

Now, let us find x – intercept. So put y = 0 in eqn (1)

0 = 3x – 8

3x = 8

x = \frac{8}{3}

So, point where given line meets x – axis is (\frac{8}{3} ,0)

Now, let us find y – intercept. So put x = 0 in (1)

y = 3(0) – 8

y = 8

So, point where given line meets y – axis is (0,8).

Hence, x − intercept is (\frac{8}{3} ,0) , y − intercept is (0,8).

Pablo debe ordenar 350 sillas de un salón en filas y columnas. Cada fila tendrá 20 sillas. ¿Cuántas filas completas podrá formar
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

  • ¿Cuántas filas completas podrá formar? 17 filas
  • ¿Quedará alguna fila incompleta? Si
  • ¿Con cuantas sillas? 10 sillas
  • ¿Cómo representarías con una división el proceso? 350÷20= 17.5

Step-by-step explanation:

1. in the figure FL=5 and HL= 8 what is FM (hint Pythagorean theorem and radi of circles)
marta [7]
1- FM is 3

we know that FM and FG are radius of the circle. so:
FM =FG

so if we find FG by Pythagorean theorem, we find FM, too

FL (hypotenuse) is 5

HL is 8. GL is half of HL. so GL is 4

now we can use Pythagorean theorem to find FG
4 {}^{2}  +  {x}^{2} =  {5}^{2}    \\  {x}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  -  {4}^{2}  \\  {x}^{2}  = 25 - 16 = 9 \\ x =  \sqrt{9}  = 3

2- x is 40

BAD is half of m DB

ADB is half of m AB

so BAD is 50

and ADB is 90

Then ABD will be:
180 - (50 + 90) = 180 - 140  \\ = 40

good luck
