For this, you would need to combine your like terms

In this case your like terms are 4a and 5a : 7b and -b

So, all you do is add

4a + 5a= 9a

7b + (-b) or if it is easier to understand you can write it as 7b - b

When adding these two together, b contains an invisible one in front of it so if you feel the need to, you can also write the equation as:

7b + (-1b) or 7b - 1b

7b  - 1b= 6b

Your answer is 9a + 6b

Side note: anytime you have a single variable ( just a or b or x) any single variable with no number in front of it, that means there is an invisible one in front of it ( 1a or 1b or 1x)

Hope this helps :)

9a+6b is the answer. You can find this by grouping the like terms.

Price-club sells a 12-ounce package of spaghetti noodles for $3.44 and Shop Mart sells a 2-pound box of spaghetti noodles for $8
Eva8 [605]

The unit price per ounce at Price club is $0.29 and the unit price per ounce at Shop Mart is $0.26

Step-by-step explanation:

Price of 12 ounce package at Price Club = $3.44

Unit rate per ounce = \frac{Price\ of\ package}{Weight\ of\ package}

Unit rate per ounce = \frac{3.44}{12} = \$0.29

Price of 2 pound box at Shop Mart= $8.35

1 pound = 16 ounce

2 pound = 16*2 = 32 ounces

Unit rate per ounce = \frac{Price\ of\ package}{Weight\ of\ package}

Unit rate per ounce = \frac{8.35}{32} = \$0.26

The unit price per ounce at Price club is $0.29 and the unit price per ounce at Shop Mart is $0.26

Plz help me agh! It’s linear stuff
kherson [118]

Answer:

(1/2)x - y = -2

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Pre-Alg</u>

  • Equality Properties

<u>Alg I</u>

Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b

  • m - slope
  • b - y-intercept

Standard Form: Ax + By = C

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define equation</u>

Slope-Intercept Form: 2 + (1/2)x = y

<u>Step 2: Find Standard Form</u>

  1. Rewrite:                                        y = (1/2)x + 2
  2. Subtract 1/2x on both sides:       y - 1/2x = 2
  3. Factor negative:                          -(1/2x - y) = 2
  4. Divide both sides by -1:               1/2x - y = -2
