The speed of boat is 11 km/h in still water and speed of current is 7 km/h.

Step-by-step explanation:

Combined speed of boat and current while going down = 18 km/h

Combined speed while coming up = 4 km/h

Let,

Speed of boat = x

Speed of current = y

As boat and current were in same direction while going down,

x+y = 18      Eqn 1

We will subtract the speed of current while coming up because both the boat and current will be in opposite directions.

x-y = 4     Eqn 2

Adding Eqn 1 and Eqn 2

(x+y)+(x-y)=18+4\\x+y+x-y=22\\2x=22

Dividing both sides by 2

\frac{2x}{2}=\frac{22}{2}\\x=11

Putting x=11 in Eqn 1

11+y=18\\y=18-11\\y=7

The speed of boat is 11 km/h in still water and speed of current is 7 km/h.

How do you factor 2x^3+5y^3
Pavel [41]
All you do is...
\mathrm{Apply\:sum\:of\:cubes\:rule:\:}x^3+y^3=\left(x+y\right)\left(x^2-xy+y^2\right)

2x^3+5y^3=\left(\sqrt[3]{2}x+\sqrt[3]{5}y\right)\left(\left(\sqrt[3]{2}\right)^2x^2-\sqrt[3]{2}\sqrt[3]{5}xy+\left(\sqrt[3]{5}\right)^2y^2\right)
\left(\sqrt[3]{2}x+\sqrt[3]{5}y\right)\left(\left(\sqrt[3]{2}\right)^2x^2-\sqrt[3]{2}\sqrt[3]{5}xy+\left(\sqrt[3]{5}\right)^2y^2\right) \ \textgreater \ Refine

\left(\sqrt[3]{2}x+\sqrt[3]{5}y\right)\left(2^{\frac{2}{3}}x^2-\sqrt[3]{10}xy+5^{\frac{2}{3}}y^2\right)

Hope this helps!

Help Plz ASAP!!!!!
masha68 [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Observe in the attached image that the final balance in your account on 9/1 is $578.30.

Then:

*On 9/6 he makes a payment of $140.30

*On 9/8, he makes a withdrawal from an ATM of $120

This means that:

$140.30 + $120 = $260.30

Then:

*On 9/18 you receive a deposit of $356.22

This means that:

$356.22

So, we have:

Beginning Balance: $578.30.

Total Withdrawals: $260.30

Total Deposits: $356.22

Final Balance = Beginning balance + Total Deposits - Total Withdrawals

Final Balance= $578.30 + $356.22 - $260.30

Final balance= $674.22

Then:

Date     Description    Debits(-) Credits(+)    Balance

9/6        Auto Pay         140.30                       438.00

9/8         ATM               120.0                         318.00

9/18       Deposit                           356.22      674.22
