Describe and explain the changes in electrical activity both in receptor and in the sensory neurone as increasing pressure is ap
blsea [12.9K]
Pacinian corpuscles are rapidly adapting mechanoreceptors so they respond only at the onset and offset of the stimulus. The Pacinian corpuscle has a single afferent nerve fiber. Its end is covered by a sensitive receptor membrane whose sodium channels will open when the membrane is deformed in any way. Pressure thus causes sodium to enter the neuron and create a generator potential. If this potential reaches a certain threshold nerve impulses are formed. This impulse is now transferred along the axon with the use of sodium channels and sodium/potassium pumps in the axon membrane. The magnitude of the stimulus is encoded in the frequency of impulses generated in the neuron. So the more massive or rapid the deformation of a single corpuscle, the higher the frequency of nerve impulses generated in its neuron.

Here is a diagram of the digestive system. Where do you think lactase would be most effective? Explain. Be sure to consider the
BartSMP [9]

Lactase will most likely be found in the small intestine and food spends the largest time there.

The digestive system refers to all the structures that are responsible for the breakdown of food in the body. In each part of the digestive system, enzymes act on the food particles to enable certain conversions.

The enzyme lactase in involved in the digestion of milk and diary products. The enzyme has an optimum pH of about 6 hence it works in an acidic environment. Lactase is found in the small intestine.

In which bottles did fermentation occur? How do you know this?
gogolik [260]

Answer:

Bottle 2 and bottle 4

Explanation:

Whenever fermentation occurs the liquid experiences natural carbonation in a way. For example if you've ever seen a bottle of kombucha you'll see that it's constantly bubbly and it never stops bubbling. So the production of oxygen inflated the balloons.
