The first amendment has been and still is the most important amendment in the Bill of Rights. The first amendment gives freedom of religion, speech, press, and petition which limits government and guarantees freedom. Without these fundamental rights, America would not be the “land of the free.”
Eleanor was a representative to the United Nations and sustained
to serve as an advocate for a wide range of human rights issues. She was
an early supporter of civil rights for African Americans, along with an advocate
for women, American workers, poor, and young people. She also sustained
government-funded programs for performers and authors.
