Which of the following sentences uses the subjunctive mood correctly?
egoroff_w [7]
Subjunctive is about possibilities - about something that hasn't happened yet, but may happen. The verbs here are used to express wishes, or suggestions, which are contrary to fact. Having this in mind, the correct answer is A. If I were you, I would ask Mr. Sanders before I painted that wall.

The expression if I were you is a text-book subjunctive expression, so you know for sure it is subjunctive mood when you see it. The person in A is suggesting something, which is a characteristic of subjunctive, whereas B is just a simple indicative sentence (opposite of subjunctive).

He goes to a neighborhood stuffed with rubbish and junk and stumbles over something. Though he asks the scavengers for help they can’t hear him. The three boys come near him and he weeps sort of a baby. He asks them to depart a poor and honest man alone. The boys ask him if they'll help him, Armando can’t believe his ears because he had thought that they're there to rob him. The boys introduce themselves as students who had come to town for a football tournament. The boys also explain that they'd taken the incorrect bus and had to urge off.

Which genre uses narrative techniques to provide a glimpse into the human experience?
irga5000 [103]

The correct answer is a short story.

Your options are tragedy, short story, lyric poem, and expository essay. The answer cannot be tragedy because tragedy relies of dialogues and emotions rather than narration. It cannot be a lyric poem because it is solely about emotions. An expository essay is just telling you how to do something - or how something is achieved.

We are left with a short story - it uses narration to tell us what is going on and it describes people and their experiences.
