How do mirnas function in controlling gene expression? view available hint(s) how do mirnas function in controlling gene express
kirill115 [55]
I believe the miRNAs control gene expression by binding to mRNAs and degrading them or blocking their translation. The microRNAs are short non coding RNAs which function to regulate the process of gene expression. They bind to the 3-UTR of the target mRNAs and repress the production of protein by destabilizing the mRNA and translational silencing.

If intrapulmonary pressure was 760 mm hg, what would you expect the intrapleural pressure to be?
Natasha_Volkova [10]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

756 mm Hg

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • Intrapleural pressure is the pressure of the air within the pleural cavity, between the visceral and parietal pleurae. This pressure changes during different phases of breathing.
  • <em><u>Due to certain characteristics of the lungs, the intrapleural pressure is always lower than, or negative to, the intra-alveolar pressure. It  remains approximately –4 mm Hg throughout the breathing cycle.</u></em>
  • <em><u>Therefore; if the intrapulmonary pressure was 760 mm hg then the intrapleural pressure will be (760 -4) mm Hg, that is 756 mm Hg</u></em>

How is this information carried within the DNA
serious [3.7K]
<h2>Answer: Genetic information is carried in the linear sequence of nucleotides in DNA. Each molecule of DNA is a double helix formed from two complementary strands of nucleotides held together by hydrogen bonds between G-C and A-T base pairs.</h2>

Explanation:

<h2>The information carried by a DNA molecule is in Genetic information resides in the order of the nucleotides on a DNA molecule. ... They hypothesized that there must be a code that linked the nucleotide sequence in a gene to the amino acid sequence in a protein. Each nucleotide code is called a codon.</h2>
