Moerdyk Corporation's bonds have a 15-year maturity, a 7.25% semiannual coupon, and a par value of $1,000. The going interest ra
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

$1,101.58

Explanation:

Tenor: 30 times (15-year maturity * 2 for semiannual)

Coupon rate: 7.25% semiannual -> coupon received semiannual (PMT) = $1,000 * 7.25%/2 = $36.25

Face value (FV): $1,000

Yield To Date (YTD): 6.20% semiannual -> YTD per semiannual = 3.1% (=6.20%/2)

Bond’s price = present value of bond + present value of total coupon received semiannual

Present value of bond = FV/(1+ YTD) ^tenor = 1000/(1+3.1%)^30 = $400.1659

present value of total coupon received semiannual = 36.25/(1+3.1%)^30 + 36.25/(1+3.1%)^29+ ….. + 36.25/(1+3.1%)^1 = $701.4189

(we can use excel to calculate the PV of coupon received = PV(rate,tenor,-PMT) = PV(3.1%,30,-36.25) = 701.42)

⇒ Bond’s price = $400.1659+ $701.4189=  $1,101.58

Kalen is a seventeen-year-old minor who has just graduated from high school. He is attending a university two hundred miles from
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer and Explanation:

According to the scenario, the explanation of the given situation are as follow:-

1. Ability of Contract : According to the law except of some contract a minor can enter into any contract. Mr. kalen is a seventeen year old minor and he can entered the rent contract because it is not banned by the government for the minor.

2. This is a voidable contract because Mr. Kalen is a minor and he not legally capable to entering in agreement. In voidable contract one party has a right to discontinue the contract it is depends on him that he want to void it or not. If he wants to void it he cannot be bound to go further with this contract. If a minor wants he can rightfully dis-affirm any contract in which he enters.

According to the analysis, under this circumstance, Mr. kalen is not bound to the contract because he is still minor and he shows his disaffirmance of contract by returning the key to landlord. So he is not liable for the balance of the payments due under the lease.

The nominal value of anything is its price expressed in ________, and the real value of anything is its value expressed in ___
Alexandra [31]

Answer:

D. today's dollars; purchasing power

The nominal value of anything is it's current price or the dollar amount someone is paying for it. For eg if the price of a kg of rice is $3, its nominal value is also $3. The real value is expressed in terms of purchasing power which means that the amount of goods and services that you can purchase from a particular amount of money today compared to a base year in the past. So for example if the base year is 5 years ago and the price of a kg of rice was $1.5, the real value of $3 would be 2 kgs of rice, where as currently if the price of a kg of rice is $3 then the real value of $3 is 1 kg of rice. As purchasing power decreases the real value of money decreases.
