Which states of matter have particles that move independently of one another with very little attraction?
wel
Solid's molecules have very high attraction forces, so the particles stay together and vibrate rather than any strong motion. Liquids have pretty strong attraction forces, but because they are weaker than solids, particles can move more freely, so they can slide against each other rather than vibrate. Gases have the least strong attraction forces compared to the two, so they can move everywhere, and as you know, gas is not constricted and it is everywhere, so gas is the answer.

how many grams of water can be produced the combination of 10 grams of oxygen and 8 grams of hydrogen
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

Mass =  11.16 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of hydrogen = 8 g

Mass of oxygen = 10 g

Mass of water produced = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

2H₂ + O₂         →      2H₂O

Number of moles of hydrogen:

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Number of moles = 8 g/ 2 g/mol

Number of moles = 4 mol

Number of moles of oxygen:

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Number of moles = 10 g/ 32 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.31 mol

now we will compare the moles of hydrogen and oxygen with water.

                   O₂          :           H₂O

                    1            :             2

                  0.31         :            2/1×0.31 = 0.62

                  H₂           :            H₂O

                    2            :              2

                     4            :              4

Number of moles of water formed by oxygen are less this it will act as limiting reactant.

Mass of water:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass = 0.62 mol × 18 g/mol

Mass =  11.16 g

Are the changes from a to b and from b to c physical or chemical changes?
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

They are physical changes.

Explanation:

This is because there in no chemical reaction taking place, just a physical change.

A physical change in a change in which the chemical structure of the substance does not change. Ice, water and steam are all the same on a molecular level, thus changing from ice to water or from water to steam are physical changes.

A chemical change is a change in which the chemical structure of the substance undergoes a change, since this does not happen going for A to B or B to C they are not chemical changes.
