The correct answer is C. To persuade the state legislature to support public funding of a sports stadium

Explanation:

An interest group, which is also called an advocacy group or campaign group, is a group whose main purpose is to persuade people or government and have a specific influence on society or policies. These groups are called interest groups because they promote and pursue the interests of some group. Additionally, interest groups can have interests of all types including political, healthy, commercial or religious interests and can use different instruments to achieve their goals such as publicity or campaigns. Considering this, one reason to join these kinds of groups is "to persuade the state legislature to support public funding of a sports stadium", as this means there will be an influence or change on policy (government) and a certain group interests are being pursued (probably athletes or sport fans), which is the purpose of interest groups.

To persuade the state legislature to support public funding of a sports stadium.

Further Explanation:

Interest groups play a key role in putting forward claims to the government on issues concerning the demands of the public. Before elections, government representatives make different claims and promises, about improving the citizens’ quality of life if they would be voted to power, by introducing different reforms and civic amenities. However, these demands might not be fulfilled once they are n power, or they ignore certain key aspects of social and economic welfare. An interest group does not necessarily have political agendas, but they attempt to persuade the common people and the government about a particular set of demands, that shall have a significant effect on society. These groups are also termed as ‘interest groups’ because they work towards achieving a singular set of demands. Thus, they may also be termed as activists.

Interest groups can advocate for different kinds of interests that might have significant social, political or economic implications. Usually, these interests are beneficial to society in large, such as advocating for the necessity of maintaining proper hygiene around the neighborhood or to campaign for better medical facilities for citizens. Interest groups use different strategies to persuade the public and government institutions to fulfill their demands. The most common of these strategies is to hold public meetings and gatherings, in which the demands and the reasons for putting up such demands are popularized. The interest groups also might engage in active campaigning, which involves a plethora of activities such as writing slogans, distributing pamphlets and putting up posters. The actions of these interest groups also play a vital role in spreading knowledge and information about particular demands and its larger impacts on the population, so that more people join the cause.

Anna11 [10]

This question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

All of the following are parallel in structure with “crying over the loss of my boyfriend” except __________.

A) I felt so bad yesterday afternoon

B) texting all of my girl friends

C) eating all the ice cream in the freezer

D) listening to my collection of sad music

Answer:

The correct answer is option A) I felt so bad yesterday afternoon.

Explanation:

If you pay attention, all the options, including the example, contain verbs ending in ing.

Option A does not have the same structure, therefore that is the option that does not fit with the rest.

Words ending in ing can be the following: gerunds, verbal nouns, present participles. In the case of the example we have the ending ing used as a gerund, where the verb is used as if it were a noun.

Given this information we can say that the correct answer is option A.

Which theme is best reflected in this excerpt from Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis? Because of his injuries, Gregor had lost muc
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

A). Isolation.

Explanation:

The theme or the 'underlying message' that Franz Kafka discusses in the given excerpt would be 'isolation' as it discusses the pain and suffering that Gregor suffers after being transformed into a cockroach. He 'lost his mobility' and 'reduced to the condition of an ancient invalid.' He was completely alone and shattered. He is broken completely and had no one to talk to. He was deteriorated to such a miserable condition that it took him too long to crawl his room. He was lying in utter darkness with no one to share his thoughts and he could only listen to the conversations of his family at the dinner table from a distance. Thus, these situations clearly display that Gregor was completely isolated and broken and that is the central idea that Kafka is conveying. Thus, option A is the correct answer.
