Alright, so for AB and CD to be parallel, CX and DX would have to be equal, as is with AX and BX. In addition, for CD and AB to be parallel, all sides in both triangles are either equal or not all sides in even one triangle are equal. Therefore, CD is not 3. In addition, two sides of a triangle combined must be greater than the third, so that leaves 5, 4, and 2 for CD. If it was 5, that would mean that all sides are equal, so that leaves 4 and 2. However, I don't see anything to prove either one right, sorry:/

Answer:

18 hours after 10 AM

Step-by-step explanation:

1. We are looking for the time the helicopter and the plane will be the same distance from Burbank after 10 AM.
2. We are given the two equations for the distance that the helicopter and the plane are away, in miles.
3. It also says that R is the variable for time.
4. Using this information, we need to solve for the time with broth equations, so we would set both up to be equal to each other, since they will be the same distance away from each other.
5. It would look like this: -150r + 260 = -270r + 440.
6. Add 150r to both sides.
7. 260 = -10r + 440.
8. Add -10r to both sides.
9. Now we have 10r + 260 = 440
10. Subtract 260 from both sides.
11. 10r = 180
12. Divide each side by 10 to isolate the R.
13. R = 18.
14. It would be 18 hours after 10 AM.

If I am incorrect in my reasoning, please let me know so that I can plan better for my future answers. Have an amazing day.
