<u>What is a claim of policy?</u>

A <u>claim of policy </u>states someone's position according to a specific necessity.

Claims of policy are often presented as essays or articles in which a person states his/her opinion about situations that should be <u>changed</u> or <u>improved</u>.  

The following verbs are often used in a claim of policy:<em> must, should, need or ought</em>.  

An example of a claim of policy would be: <em>"Abortion must be legalized in the American continent". </em>
