Increasing the area of a reserve will increase the carrying capacity of the reserve. The degree of increase will depend on the increase in resources that the rodents need such as food and habitat. For example, if desert land is added to an existing reserve, it is unlikely that the reserve carrying capacity will increase much. If the population of rodents starts to decline, this has no effect on the carrying capacity of the reserve. The carrying capacity is a set value based on resources available.

Answer:

If the area of the reserve is extended, the carrying capacity is likely to increase.

During the summer, a fatal disease began killing individuals. The carrying capacity of the reserve will therefore decrease.

Explanation:

Carrying capacity refers to the maximum population size that a habitat can support as per its available resources such as food, space etc. Increasing the area of the reserve would increase the available resources and therefore, the carrying capacity would increase. Any limiting factor such as diseases, natural disasters etc. reduces the carrying capacity by adversely affecting the resources of the system.

At the beginning of 2000 the population of the United States was 282 million people. At the beginning 2010 the population of the
dezoksy [38]

Answer: A). 2.7 million people per year

Explanation:

From 2000 to 2010 is 10 years. Change in population in 10 years = population at the beginning of 2010 minus the population at the beginning of 2000. This is:

309 million -282 million = 27 million.

Therefore average change in population person year = 27 million/10 = 2.7 million per year

How are primary and secondary succession similar?
anzhelika [568]

Answer;

B. Both primary and secondary succession involve ecosystems recovering from a disruptive event.

Explanation;

-Primary succession occurs following an opening of a pristine habitat, for example, a lava flow, an area left from retreated glacier, or abandoned strip mine. In contrast, secondary succession is a response to a disturbance, for example, forest fire, tsunami, flood, or an abandoned field.

-Primary succession begins in barren areas, such as on bare rock exposed by a retreating glacier. Secondary succession follows a major disturbance, such as a fire or a flood.
