The oceanic zone can be defined as the region of ocean that lies beyond the continental shelf and neritic zone is zone of ocean which receives plenty of sunlight, permanently covered with well-oxygenated water, and has low water pressure.  

This zone has relatively stable light, pressure, temperature and salinity level that makes it suitable for life. hence, a lot of marine life is found in neritic zone  sub-zone of oceanic zone.
