How did the Enlightenment change the way people were governed ?

History

It changed what they thought about who should govern them and it changed what they thought about the purpose of government. Before the Enlightenment, essentially everyone agreed that countries should be governed by monarchs. They believed that God had appointed certain people to rule over others

Roosevelt's Good Neighbor Policy did not fare well.
True
False
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

The policy's main principle was that of non-intervention and non-interference in the domestic affairs of Latin America. It also reinforced the idea that the United States would be a "good neighbor" and engage in reciprocal exchanges with Latin American countries.

The policy's success was measured in part by the rapidity with which most Latin American states rallied to the Allies during World War II. After the war, however, U.S. anticommunist policies in Europe and Asia led to renewed distrust in the Americas and the gradual lapse of the Good Neighbor Policy.

Why did the framers of the Constitution create a presidential rather than a parliamentary system of government, and a bicameral
inysia [295]
1st Question:

The Framers wanted a division among the branches of government, in which some power was given to the judicial branch, some to the legislative branch, and some to the courts. Compared to a presidential system, the legislative branch in a parliamentary system has much more power.

2nd Question
The framers needed to find a way for representatives to fairly represent both population and states, meaning that although state population affected representation, it wouldn't be so much so that small states like Rhode Island had almost no voice. To do this, the created a bicameral legislature, with each state having equal representation in the Senate and the House having numbers of reps based on population.
