Given:

θ = 60°

Radius = 8 in

To find:

The area of the shaded segment.

Solution:

Vertically opposite angles are congruent.

Angle for the shaded segment = 60°

<u>Area of the sector:</u>

$A=\pi r^2\times \frac{\theta}{360^\circ}

$A=3.14 \times 8^2\times \frac{60^\circ}{360^\circ}

A = 33.5 in²

Area of the sector = 33.5 in²

<u>Area of triangle:</u>

$A=\frac{1}{2} bh

$A=\frac{1}{2} \times 8\times 8

A = 32 in²

Area of the triangle = 32 in²

Area of segment = Area of sector - Area of triangle

                            = 33.5 in² - 32 in²

                            = 1.5 in²

The area of the shaded segment is 1.5 square inches.

Which graph is an example of a cubic function
Firlakuza [10]
The graph of a cubic function has its ends in opposite direction.

A cubic function with positive coefficient rises towards right and falls towards left.

A cubic function with negative coefficient rises towards left and falls towards right.

The graph attached below shows the parent cubic function y = x³

QUAL A ÁREA, EM CENTÍMETROS QUADRADOS, DA FIGURA AO LADO?
Ratling [72]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Dado:

Considere o quadrilátero como trapézio, então nós temos

soma dos lados paralelos = 13+22

altura = 12

Encontrar:

área de trapézio = ?

Solução:

Considere o quadrilátero como trapézio, então nós temos

\textrm{área de trapézio}=\frac{1}{2}\times \textrm{soma dos lados paralelos}\times altura\\=\frac{1}{2}\times (13+22)\times 12\\=210\ centímetros quadrados

Piper is deciding whether she should pursue an education in engineering or in public communications. She has researched that a p
arlik [135]

Answer:

A public communications director would make $1,196,800 over a period of 20 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

The median salary of an engineer is $73,400 per year.

Piper has researched that a public communications director makes $13,560 less than this. (so we need to take this amount from the salary of an engineer)

Therefore, we would have that a public communications director would make

73,400 - 13,560 = $59, 840 per year

Now, the problem asks us how much a public communications director will make over a period of <u>20 years</u>, thus, we have to multiply the amount she will get per year by 20.

Thus, over 20 years she would make: <u>59,840 x 20</u> = $1,196,800
