Answer:

a) -8

b) -56

c) 3

d) 6

Step-by-step explanation:

(a). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow -2x^2-3x+1

Now, substitute the the value of x = 3 in the expression

\Rightarrow -2\times(-3)^2-3\times(-3)+1

\Rightarrow -8

(b). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow 8-(3x-2)^2

Now, substitute the the value of x = -2 in the expression

\Rightarrow 8-(3\times(-2)-2)^2

\Rightarrow -56

(c). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow \dfrac{-3}{k+2}

Now, substitute the the value of k = -3 in the expression

\Rightarrow \dfrac{-3}{-3+2}

\Rightarrow 3

(d). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow \dfrac{15m}{n+1}-m^2+n

Now, substitute the the value of m = 1 and n = 2 in the expression

\Rightarrow \dfrac{15\times1}{2+1}-1^2+2

\Rightarrow 6

Hence, This is the required solution.

To solve 1-20, you plug in the number for the variable that the variable is equal to e.i. a) x = -3 so you plug -3 in every place there is an x

-2(-3)^2 - 3(-3) + 1

-2(9) +9 + 1

-18 +10

-8
The solution to a) is -8.

Please leave a comment and let me know if you also need help with b-d or if you understand.

On a map, the scale is 1 inches = 50 miles. For each map distance, find the actual distance for: 12 inches
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

600 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the scale is given as 1 inch = 50 miles

Then to get the distance when given 12 inches in a map we do cross multiplication as follows

1 inch = 50 miles

12 inch=x miles

By cross multiplication

1 inch*x miles=50 miles *12 inches

Making x the subject of formula then

X=50*12/1=600 miles

Therefore, the actual distance is 600 miles

Dan bought 5 new baseball trading cards to add to his collection. The next day his dog ate half of his collection. There are now
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

79

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's say that N is the number of cards.

So the first step is N+5, because dan bought 5 new cards.

Next his dog ate half the collection, so the 2nd piece of the problem is \frac{N+5}{2}

The last step is to now make it an equation. Because there are now 46 cards left, \frac{N+5}{2}=42.

Now solve for N which is N+5=84=> N=79

brainliest would be appreciated!
