Answer:

a) -8

b) -56

c) 3

d) 6

Step-by-step explanation:

(a). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow -2x^2-3x+1

Now, substitute the the value of x = 3 in the expression

\Rightarrow -2\times(-3)^2-3\times(-3)+1

\Rightarrow -8

(b). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow 8-(3x-2)^2

Now, substitute the the value of x = -2 in the expression

\Rightarrow 8-(3\times(-2)-2)^2

\Rightarrow -56

(c). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow \dfrac{-3}{k+2}

Now, substitute the the value of k = -3 in the expression

\Rightarrow \dfrac{-3}{-3+2}

\Rightarrow 3

(d). The expression is given by,

\Rightarrow \dfrac{15m}{n+1}-m^2+n

Now, substitute the the value of m = 1 and n = 2 in the expression

\Rightarrow \dfrac{15\times1}{2+1}-1^2+2

\Rightarrow 6

Hence, This is the required solution.

To solve 1-20, you plug in the number for the variable that the variable is equal to e.i. a) x = -3 so you plug -3 in every place there is an x

-2(-3)^2 - 3(-3) + 1

-2(9) +9 + 1

-18 +10

-8
The solution to a) is -8.

Please leave a comment and let me know if you also need help with b-d or if you understand.

Which recursive formula can be used to generate the sequence below, where f(1) = 3 and n ≥ 1?

3, –6, 12, –24, 48

The recursive formula for this sequence is

f (n + 1) = –2 f(n)

at n=1 f(n)= 3

at n = 2

f(2) = -2 (3) = -6

n = 3

f(3) = -2 (-6) = 12 and so on

PLEASE EXPLAIN BECAUSE A GIRL IS COMPLETELY LOST HERE
Afina-wow [57]

Hello!

To find the value of b, we need to use the Law of Sines. The law states,

sin A / a = sin B / b = sin C / c.

We are given these values: sin A = 55 degrees, side a = 8 cm, sin C = 82 degrees.

Since angle B is not given, we have to find it ourselves. We can find the measure of angle B by subtracting both the given angle values from 180 degrees because every triangle is equal to 180 degrees.

180 - 55 - 82 = 43 | The measure of sin B = 43 degrees.

sin (55) / 8 = sin (43) / b (multiply both sides by b)

0.10239... · b = 0.68199... (divide both sides by 0.10239...)

c = 6.6607...

The measure of side b is equal to about 6.7 centimeters.
