When we identify the relationships between two or more events in history, we are establishing causality. This means that we are trying to understand how one process or event contributes to the production of another process or event. This can be extremely complex, particularly when dealing with history, as it is always difficult to establish how events connect and affect each other. Moreover, an event usually has many different causes that interact with each other in various ways.
