The central idea of the paragraph in this exceprt the author adopts is that her parents barely dealt with the circumstances of living under a dictatorship despite the humiliating tributes done by Trujillo they unwillingly made part of, so the best idea is the last option "<em>The author’s parents tried to get by in the dictatorship, but felt humiliated by the tributes they were forced to participate in."</em> As expressed in the passage, the author's parents tried to keep a low profile to avoid detection from police, but having a handful of daughters made it difficult, and they could not take any risks but to accede to stand the dictatorship.

Well I see it as an A for effort. But in in all fairness if you lost the game you shouldn't really be a sore loser because of it. In football games the people keeping score don't give the points the other team that lost because "they tried". I was on the cheerleading team and the other girls won nationals but I thought it was unfair because we all really tried our hardest and the thought we should get extra points. But I know that's totally ridiculous now.

Answer:

B. It has five metrical feet that each contain an unstressed syllable immediately followed by a stressed one.

Explanation:

<em>Iambic pentameter</em> is a type of verse structure that gives the line a certain rhythm. The iamb is a type of metrical feet that is considered to be built of one unstressed syllable and one stressed syllable. But in its name, we have pentameter, and <em>Penta </em>means five in Greek. So, we have five pairs of unstressed and stressed syllables, or in other words 10 syllables. Shakespeare loved using the iambic pentameter because of its effect on poetry and how it made it sound.
