I would choose abstract art and something aesthetically pleasing because abstract art can distract your mind from the things around you and I would choose aesthetically pleasing art because when you look at the art your mind will calm down from the worry you are thinking about.

I would probably choose something abstract,minimal and simple. Maybe some white and blue. If abstract art doesn’t match the waiting room u could put a painting of a landscape. If the room has dark colors on the furniture, something with more volume would look nice. However no matter the type of art you choose the paintings should look alike and have a light aura.

Vincent Van Gogh is a major one. Check out his works. If you want a really popular painting of his, check out "Starry Night" 
Many impressionists did their work this way, so it is often called impressionist art.
Claud Monet, Charles Angrand, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and many many more.

Serifs are semi-structural details or small decorative flourishes at the ends of some strokes that have made letters and symbols. For example, most teachers like it when their students use Times New Roman font. Sans serif does not have these details or flourishes. Another example would be the Arial font.
