Josh went to applebee and enjoyed a delicious steak. He enjoyed his server and wanted to give an extra special tip. Usually josh

tips 20% to all servers. Today he tipped his server 25% of his subtotal. After josh ordered his dessert, his subtotal before tax was $21.00
How much did josh tip his server? How much more did he tip his server today, than he normally would tip? After the 7.5% sales tax, and the 25% tip, how much was josh's final bill

Answer:

Josh's total bill is $ 27.825

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The subtotal of the Josh Bill =   $21.00

<u>Finding the usual amount Josh gave as Tip To his sever:</u>

Usually josh tips 20% to all servers

So Tip = 20% of his subtotal

=> 20\% \times 21

=>\frac{20}{100} \times 21

=>0.2 \times 21

=>4.2

So Josh usually tips $4.2 to his server

<u>Finding the amount Josh gave 25%</u><u> </u><u>as Tip To his sever:</u>

But now he tips 25% which is

=> 25% of 21

=> \frac{25}{100} \times 21

=> 0.25 \times 21

=> 5.25

Thus the tip amount will be $5.25

So he will be giving (5.25 - 4.2) = $1.05 more than the usual tip

<u>Finding the total bill</u>

The total bill  = subtotal+ 7.5% sales tax +  25% tip

=> 21 + 7.5 % of 21 + 25% of 21

=> 21 + \frac{75}{100} \times 21 +  \frac{25}{100} \times 21

=>21 +0.075 \times 21 +  0.25 \times 21

=> 21 +1.575 +5.25

=>27.825

pogonyaev
You can set this up as an algebraic equation using the ratio:

\frac{1}{2} = \frac{x}{x+1250}
where x = number of skiers

Cross multiply:
x + 1250 = 2x

Solve for x:
-x = -1250
x=1250

To find the number of snowboarders, add 1250.
1250 + 1250 = 2500

1250 skiers and 2500 snowboarders bought season passes.

Answer:

24

Step-by-step explanation:

I use the Pythagoras theorem.

\sqrt{a^{2} +b^{2} } =c^{2}

4^{2}{x}6^{2} = c^{2}

16 x 36= 576

\sqrt{576} = 24
