4 0

Answer:

smaller x =-1/2

larger x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

(x-7)(-4x - 2) = 0

Using the zero product property

(x-7)=0              (-4x - 2) = 0

x-7+7 = 0+7        -4x-2-2 =0+2

x=7                         -4x =2

                               -4x/-4 = 2/-4

                                    x = -1/2

Consider the quadratic function:
Llana [10]

Answer:

(4, -25)

Step-by-step explanation:

One thing I wanted to say is thank you for including the equation to find the vertex! I literally had a brain fart and was like wait it is -b over 2a, then I looked and high fived myself lol but anyways. But anyways the question is what is the vertex of x²-8x-9??

First let's label this formula. The quadratic formula has three variables to label and it labels them as a,b, and c.

a= x²   b= -8   c=-9  ( and yes the negative and positive sign makes a difference, trust me. :D )

So again what is the vertex equation? It is -b over 2a. So let's look at our functiion and plug in the numbers.

b= -8  => -b= -(-8) = +8

a= 1  =>   2a= 2(1) = 2

So -b/2a equals a positive 8 divided by 2. 8 divided by two equals.. 4.

Yet what would be outcome of this equation. How about we input 4 into the equation we have.

f(x)= x²-8x-9

f(4)= (4)²-8(4)-9

f(4)= 16-(32)-9

f(4)= -16-9

f(4)= -25

So in this case (4, -25) is the vertex of this equation!!

Sorry for typing so much, I know it may be alot, but it's the answer. Yet, I really do hope I gave you a very clear answer. If you have any questions or comment, don't be afraid to say ask or even message me. If you have to. But anyways I hoped I help, have a great day!! :D

How do change 13 1/4 into decimal form
Bess [88]
That would be 13.25, 13+1/4
                                = 13+(1 divided by 4 which is 0.25)
                                = 13+0.25
                                Which is 13.25 so your answer is 13.25, good luck hope that helps :D

Given that slope = -1 and a point (3,-1), write an equation in slope-
stealth61 [152]
Y=Mx+b

Slope/M= -1
X= 3
Y= -1

-1 = -1(3)+b

-1 = -3 + b

Add +3 to -3 and -1 to cancel -3 out to get (b)

-3+3 = 0 cancel it

-1 +3 = 2

So, b = 2

In an equation it will be written as

y= -1x + 2

In standard form it will be

1x + y = 2

But your official answer will be

B= 2
Y= -1x+2

How many x-intercepts does the graph of y = 4x2 + 5x + 2 have?
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

hello : y= 4x² + 5x + 2

the x-intercepts  when y=0  means : 4x² + 5x + 2=0

a=4   b= 5   c=2

∆ = b²- 4ac     ∆ = (5)²- 4(4)(2) =25-32 = -7

∆ < 0 no reals solutions no  x-intercepts
