Not so sure, but I think x is equal to 3/7. So from there you can calculate the answer I guess... This isn't elementary math lol... it's more of middle school math.

BARSIC [14]

To answer this, you will first need to simply the expressions.

4\sqrt{27} = 12\sqrt{3}

6\sqrt{75} = 30\sqrt{3}

Now with the expressions simplified, you'll add the two together getting 42\sqrt{3}

Solve using the substitution method
dlinn [17]

You are told x = 8y -4

Replace x in the second equation with 8y-4:

8y-4 + 8y = 6

Combine like terms:

16y-4 = 6

Add 4 to both sides:

16y = 10

Divide both sides by 16:

Y = 10/16

Simplify:

Y = 5/8

Now replace y with 5/8 do find x:

X = 8(5/8) -4 = 5-4 = 1

X = 1, y = 5/8

(1,5/8)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Unit rate = $32/(5 pounds) = $6.40/pound

[You can convert that to smaller units:

$6.40/pound × (1 pound)/(16 ounces) = $0.40/ounce]

:::::

Cost = (number of pounds) × $6.40/pound

:::::

12 pounds × $6.40/pound = $76.80
