The economic motivations of the imperial powers led to international rivalries between them because they were competing for the same territories and the same resources.

Explanation:

The imperial powers, mainly Spain, France, and Britain, had big international rivalries between them. This was largely based on their economic motivations. These imperial powers wanted to gain as much territory as possible, and with it they wanted to gain as much resources, materials, labor force, and markets. This of course led to conflict of interests, so there were lot of conflicts, both diplomatic and military ones in numerous parts of the world where they had interests.

  • The basic goal of the imperial powers was to gain as much wealth and power as possible.
  • This was achieved by controlling as much territory, people, and resources possible.
  • The zones of interests were all across the globe, literary on every continent except for Antarctica.
  • The imperial powers, despite their mutual conflicts, still all managed to profit a lot, as they managed to exploit a lot from all around the world, so they accumulated enormous amounts of wealth.
