Harry and Cassie wanted to conduct an experiment to see how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. Belo

w is their procedure and above are the results.
1. Obtain test subject. 2. Obtain unwrapped tootsie roll pop. 3. Test subject places tootsie roll pop in center of tongue and drags it to the tip. This is considered one lick. 4. Test subject swallows. 5. Before licking again, the test subject rotates the tootsie roll pop slightly with each new lick to make sure that the entire pop obtains adequate licking surface area. 6. Test subject licks while keeping track of all licks until the tootsie roll is encountered. What is wrong with this experiment?

Hey there!

The answer is that The data was not reliable because there was not any repetition.

An experiment should be completed multiple times to be sure of accurate results.

A screenshot is attached.

Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

Actually, Kaylene M., the correct answer was D. You know:"The data is not reliable because there was not any repetition." The answer you have "screenshoted" I got the question wrong because of you. Thanks a lot.

A 3 mm inside diameter tube is placed in a fluid with a surface tension of 600 mN/m and density of 3.7 g/cm3. The contact angle
Aleks04 [339]

Answer: The height of the fluid rise is 0.01m

Explanation:

Using the equation

h = (2TcosѲ )/rpg

h= height of the fluid rise

diameter of the tube =3mm

radius of the tube= 3/2 =1.5mm=0.0015

T= surface tension = 600mN/m=0.6N/m

Ѳ = contact angle = 60^oC

p= density =3.7g/cm3= 3700kg/m3

g= acceleration due to gravity =9.8m/s2

h = ( 2*0.6*0.5)/(0.0015*3700*9.8)

h = 0.6/54.39

h= 0.01m

Therefore,the height of the fluid rise is 0.01m

When light of wavelength 240 nm falls on a potassium surface, electrons having a maximum kinetic energy of 2.93 eV are emitted.
olchik [2.2K]

A) We want to find the work function of the potassium. Apply this equation:

E = 1243/λ - Φ

E = energy of photoelectron, λ = incoming light wavelength, Φ = potassium work function

Given values:

E = 2.93eV, λ = 240nm

Plug in and solve for Φ:

2.93 = 1243/240 - Φ

Φ = 2.25eV

B) We want to find the threshold wavelength, i.e. find the wavelength such that the energy E of the photoelectrons is 0eV. Plug in E = 0eV and Φ = 2.25eV and solve for the threshold wavelength λ:

E = 1243/λ - Φ

0 = 1243/λ - Φ

0 = 1243/λ - 2.25

λ = 552nm

C) We want to find the frequency associated with the threshold wavelength. Apply this equation:

c = fλ

c = speed of light in a vacuum, f = frequency, λ = wavelength

Given values:

c = 3×10⁸m/s, λ = 5.52×10⁻⁷m

Plug in and solve for f:

3×10⁸ = f(5.52×10⁻⁷)

f = 5.43×10¹⁴Hz

A main difference between asteroids and comets is that asteroids are mostly made of rock and comets are mostly made of metals ca
avanturin [10]

We can confirm that the difference between a comet and an asteroid lies in their compositions and physical characteristics <u>derived from those compositions</u>.

As stated in the question, the main difference between an asteroid and a comet is their compositions, meaning the materials from which they form.

Asteroids are rocky objects which a heavy metal composition, while comets tend to be made of dust, ice, and <em><u>some </u></em>rocky material. Some extra differences include:

  • Comets reflect a steady amount of light (because of their ice composition)
  • Asteroids will <em><u>reflect light at random intervals due to some metals that may be present on their surface</u></em>
  • Comets tend to have a tail made of water from the melting ice when reflecting sunlight.

Therefore, we can confirm that the main difference between asteroids and comets is their compositions, which lead to distinct physical characteristics.
