Find b of y = mx + b first using a modified version of the equation.

b = y - mx
b = -1 -(1.2×-3)
b = 13/5 = 2.6

y = 1.2x + 2.6 ← result of substituting values of m and b into y = mx + b

-1.2x + y = 2.6 ← result of subtracting 1.2x from both sides

12x - 10y = -26 ← result of multiplying previous equation by -10

6x - 5y = -13 ← result of dividing previous equation by 2

ANSWER: 6x - 5y = -13

Penny received an unexpected $5,000.00 gift from a distant relative. She invests it
leva [86]

Answer:

$9,000.00 is her original investment worth in 10 yrs.

5000 x 1.08 ^10 = 10794.6249864

Then subtract -500000 = 5794.62498636

Step-by-step explanation:

Why, because the first year is proved 5000 x 0.08 = 400

= 400 year 1 but cna keep only if stays in investment for 10 years

400 x 10 = 4000 interest on investment

5000+ 4000 = $9,000.00 SI

+ 1,794.62 Interest on interest if applies (this is called CI) and makes $10794.62

Weird question but, whenever you divide by 1/4 or multiply by 4/1, will you always get the same answer.
professor190 [17]

Answer:

yep

Step-by-step explanation:

when you divide a fraction u can use the KCF method which is basically:

(keep) the first fraction the same

(change) the division sign in the middle to a multiplication sign

(flip) the second fraction

basically because you have to flip the 1/4 when you divide it, it'll be the same as a 4/1 anyways

What is the simplified form of (4x+2)/(x+5) + (3x+1)/(x+5)?
Roman55 [17]
It is pretty easy to solve this equation, given that the denominator is the same of either side (x + 5). You don't even need the brackets.
So:

4x+2/x+5 + 3x+1/x+5 = 4x+2+3x+1/x+5 = 7x + 3/x+5

The correct answer is 7x + 3 / x + 5.
It's the same as if you were adding for example 2/3 and 6/3 - since the denominator is the same, you should just add 2 and 6 and get 8/3.
