Why did Hitler kill himself?

Hitler knew he was going to be caught and taken to court when the allies invaded the bunker he was in, so he took a cyanide pill and killed himself along with his wife Eva and his pet dog Blondi by shooting them. Hitler knew that he committed numerous war crimes and that he would definitely be found guilty. Hitler's guards, finding him dead when they went to check up on him in his bunker, quickly cremated his body so the allied troops would not get hold of his body. The Nazi army quickly surrendered after their leader's death.

He was going to be caught and taken to jail so he decided to kill himself along with his wife in a basement so he wouldn't have to deal with being in jail. He rather be dead than being in jail because he also knew the judges wouldn't let him off easy and there was a high chance they might kill him also in the prison or by a judge's and jury's order. He decided to do it himself than have others do it for him.
