Also, factors such as social pressure can be a determining factor as well. If you have more than the "normal" amount of kids, or whatever is considered "normal" in a community can cause gossip, rumors, and eventually, the rumors will take over a person and he or she will not want to be viewed as a "freak" and will most likely want to stop conceiving children, causing the population to lower.
