I don't think you can give medals on this site, but ok

a way to simplify it is to solve for y
x+2y=8
minus x both sides
2y=8-x
divide both sides by 2
y=4-x/2

(x,y)
just sub points in (sub x values for x and see if you get the coresponding y value)
example
point (8,0)
x=8 and the resulting y should eual 0
y=4-x/2
y=4-8/2
y=4-4
y=0
yes

A. (8,0) works, (6,1) works, (4,2) works
B. (2,4) doesn't work, so this option is wrong
C. (0,8) doesn't work, so this option is wrong
D. (0,8) still , doesn't work, so this option is wrong

answer is A

The best way in solving this kind of question is to use the Substitution or Assignment method in every variable in the equations and the best answer this question or the right coordinates are in letter A. (8,0)(6,1)(4,2) i hope i answered your question and please ask if you have any clarifications

Sonja [21]

Answer:

P = 1039.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

- The initial amount deposited, Po = 500

- The interest rate applied, I = 5% compounded annually

Find:-

- The amount on her bank statement after 15 years?

Solution:-

- We see that the principal amount increases every year and no transactions have been made in the course of 15 years.

The total amount left in her savings account would be given by the following formula:

                         P = Po * ( 1 + I/100 )^n

- Where, n = number of years passed since deposit. (15 years)

                        P = 500 * ( 1 + 5/100 )^15

                        P = 500 * (1.05)^15

                        P = 1039.5
