Answer:

because for so long, black people were considered property like livestock. therefore, they did not have rights in the eyes of whites at that time. sadly, in some places, some people still believe in this and have no shame about it.

Answer:

Many people don't like change. Therefore, Caucasian Americans may be opposed to integration because segregation is all they know. Why change things when what your used to is working - at least for you - perfectly fine?

Some white Americans may also hold grudges against people of color. Therefore, they are biased and their perspective is clouded. They might think that all people of color are the same, so integration would cause havoc in their community.

I can't say for sure why this population is against integration because I am not part of it. However, I gave two theories that I came up with after listening  to their perspective.

What was the purpose of people flocking to the Kansas Nebraska area?
Kipish [7]

Answer:

The Kansas-Nebraska Act was an 1854 bill that mandated “popular sovereignty”–allowing settlers of a territory to decide whether slavery would be allowed within a new state’s borders. Proposed by Stephen A. Douglas–Abraham Lincoln’s opponent in the influential Lincoln-Douglas debates–the bill overturned the Missouri Compromise’s use of latitude as the boundary between slave and free territory. The conflicts that arose between pro-slavery and anti-slavery settlers in the aftermath of the act’s passage led to the period of violence known as Bleeding Kansas, and helped pave the way for the American Civil War (1861-65).

This 1854 bill to organize western territories became part of the political whirlwind of sectionalism and railroad building, splitting two major political parties and helping to create another, as well as worsening North-South relations

Why did the British lose so many more men than the Americans?
Vsevolod [243]

Answer

They lost so many men because at one point their army troops were very bad they were low on resources for their actual training and trips so when they actually met with the other men they were supposed to be fighting they would just collapse of malnutrition or of lack of training while King George the III wouldn't pay up to help them out.
