In the 1950s and 1960s, many women were attracted by new jobs in the developing service industry.

After World war II, the men who returned from the war found most of the jobs in the service industry being carried out by women. Most were in clerical and service jobs, while a smaller number of women worked as nurses or teachers.

Nowadays, the service industries involve the provision of services to businesses as well as final consumers. Such services include accounting, tradesmanship (like mechanic or plumber services), computer services, restaurants, tourism, etc.

Life expectations increased dramatically and service sector offered thousands of vacancies. Despite of this, attitude towards women and legal precedents still proved to be among the reasons of sexual inequalities and due to these reasons ‘Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’ was formed in year 1965 and the work of this commission was to see that women gain access of jobs in every part of the country, Creating women studies programs in the countries and also looking into cases in which women were fired by their employers during pregnancy.
