The efficiency of a car’s engine is 14 percent. This implies that the engine wastes
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

C) 86 J of energy for every 100 J that enter it.

Explanation:

Efficiency is a measure of performance of an engine which can be calculated by the formula as given below to get in percentage:

           Efficiency = energy output/energy input x 100

If the efficiency of a car’s engine is 14 percent it means that for every 100 joules of energy that is entered into it, only 14 joule is converted into useful output and rest of the 86 Joules is wasted.

The efficiency of any machine is never 100%, however, if any machine miraculously converts all the input energy to useful output energy, it means it is 100% efficient.

Hope it helps!

When you are cold, your muscles begin to contract involuntarily and cause you to shiver. why do you think this occurs? how does
DanielleElmas [232]
Shivering occurs when the core temperature of the body begins to decrease which would threaten normal body function. Shivering is a response by the body to bring back temperature back to homeostasis. Trembling is the continual involuntary contraction of muscles. Muscle activity releases heat that warms up the body. This is the reason why we sweat during physical activities as the body sheds excess heat generated by the muscles in order to maintain the homeostatic body temperatures of 37 degrees centigrade.

hram777 [196]

Answer:

A good scientific question has certain characteristics. It should have some answers (real answers), should be testable (i.e. can be tested by someone through an experiment or measurements), leads to a hypothesis that is falsifiable (means it should generate a hypothesis that can be shown to fail), etc.
