Answer:

There is sufficient evidence to conclude that the new algorithm has a lower mean completion time than the current algorithm

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The  sample size for each algorithm is n_1 =  n_2  =  n  =  61

     The sample mean  for new algorithm is  \= x_1 = 14.06 \ hr

     The  standard deviation for new algorithm is  \sigma _1 = 3.004 \ hr

     The  sample  mean for  the current algorithm is  \= x_2 = 16.43 \ hr

     The standard deviation for current algorithm is  \sigma _2 = 4.568

     The  level of significance is \alpha = 0.05

The  null hypothesis is  H_o  :  \mu_1 =  \mu _2

The  alternative  hypothesis is H_a   :  \mu_1 <  \mu_2

Here  \mu _1 \ and \ \mu_2 are population mean for  new and current algorithm

Generally the test statistics is mathematically represented as

       Z =  \frac{ \= x _1 -  \= x_2 }{ \sqrt{\frac{ \sigma_1 ^2  }{n_1} + \frac{\sigma^2_2 }{ n_2}}  }

=>    Z =  \frac{ 14.06 - 16.43 }{ \sqrt{\frac{  3.004^2  }{61} + \frac{4.568^2 }{ 61}}  }

=>    Z = -3.39

Generally the p-value is mathematically represented as

     p-value  =  P(Z  <  -3.39 )

From the  z-table

             P(Z  <  -3.39 )  =  0.0003

=>    p-value  =  P(Z  <  -3.39 )  =  0.0003

From the calculated value  we see that  p-value < \alpha  hence the null hypothesis is rejected

        Hence we can conclude that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the new algorithm has a lower mean completion time than the current algorithm

Lina20 [59]

Answer:

37.5

Step-by-step explanation:

16/46 = 20/(20+x)

or, 16(20+x) = 46×20

or, 320 + 16x = 920

or, 16x = 600

or, x = 600/16

x = 37.5

for the given license plate configuration, determine how many different plates are possinle if letters and digits (a) can ba rep
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

a) 1,757,600 different plates possible.

b) 1,404,000 different plates possible.

Step-by-step explanation:

The permutations formula is important to solve this question.

Permutations formula:

The number of possible permutations of x elements from a set of n elements is given by the following formula:

P_{(n,x)} = \frac{n!}{(n-x)!}

(a) can be repeated:

There are 3 letters, each one with 26 possible outcomes.

2 digits, each with 10 possible outcomes

So

T = 26*26*26*10*10 = 1757600

1,757,600 different plates possible.

(b) cannot be repeated:

Here the permutations formula is used.

Three letters, from a set of 26.

Two digits, from a set of 10. So

T = P_{(26,3)}*P_{(10,2)} = \frac{26!}{(26-3)!}*\frac{10!}{(10-2)!} = 1404000

1,404,000 different plates possible.

2+cotA=1 homework help
Alex Ar [27]
2+\cot A=1\implies \cot A=-1\implies \tan A=-1

This happens whenever A=\dfrac{3\pi}4 or A=\dfrac{7\pi}4. More generally, \tan A=-1 whenever you start with one of these angles and add any multiple of \pi, so the general solution would be A=\dfrac{3\pi}4+n\pi, where n is any integer. (Notice that when n=1, you end up with \dfrac{7\pi}4.)
