1. "He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."
2. "He has forbidden his Governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation until his assent is obtained; and when so neglected, he has utterly neglected to attend to them."
3. "He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only."

The big complaint, and the gist of ^^^ that is that we were not represented in Parliament when taxes were being created. "Taxation without representation." <span />

What is the difference between imperialism and nationalism?
Rina8888 [55]

Nationalism and Imperialism are two terms that should be understood in different senses. Nationalism is based on aggressiveness in its concept. On the other hand imperialism is constructive in its concept.

Imperialism is a kind of rule that aims at bringing equality of values, beliefs, and expertise among empires and kingdoms through domination and is autocratic in nature and also sometimes monolithic in its concept. Imperialism is a kind of western undertaking that employs expansionistic views and ideas in its ideals. Nationalism on the other hand paves the way for enmity among nations. A nationalist feels that his own country is better than any other country.

According to the great thinker George Orwell, nationalism is deeply rooted in emotions and rivalry. It makes one contemptuous of the virtues possessed by other nations. Nationalism makes one intolerant towards the progress made by other nations.

Nationalism makes one think that the people belonging to one’s own country should be considered one’s equal. Such thoughts are not present the ideals of imperialism. A nationalist does not mind about the deficiencies of his country but on the contrary takes into account only its virtues.

A nationalist strives for the domination of a nation and expresses his love for the country in an aggressive way. An imperialist though creates unequal economic relationship between states yet he maintains the unequal relationships based on domination. This is a subtle difference between the two terms.

Nationalism gives importance to unity of by way of cultural background and linguistic environment. The factors of cultural background and linguistic environment are not taken into account by the imperialist to a great extent.

How did the influx of Germanic tribes into the empire and the areas around affect the empire? -the passage might help
astraxan [27]
When Germanic tribes invaded into the Balkans, Gaul, and Spain, the Roman Empire had concern in enlisting enough soldiers to fight against the burdens from the tribes. During the mid-third century, the state was forced to employ Germans from outside the empire to attack the influx of tribes. The soldiers were eager to only work for pay since they did not recognize Roman traditions nor did they have any faithfulness to the empire.

What was the effect of the Berlin Airlift?
bulgar [2K]

Answer:

Option C, is the right answer.

Explanation:

The Berlin Airlift begins at the time when the Soviet Union blocked road and rail travel into West Berlin. This blockade was enacted by the Soviet Union in response to the refusal of the U.S. and Britain to provide Russia more say in the economy of Germany. To break the blockade, President Truman could not take direct military action as it could cause World War III, so he ordered a massive airlift of necessary goods into West Berlin. The successful U.S. airlift led the Soviet Union to end the blockade. The end of the blockade led Germany to become a separate and independent nation. The effect can be seen in the fact that West Berlin was regarded as the Island of Freedom throughout the Cold War.

What were some characteristics of renaissance writers’ work?
OleMash [197]
"Renaissance literature is characterized by a tendency toward humanist, or nonreligious, topics. The period as a whole marked a dramatic shift away from strict adherence to Church doctrines, and much of the literature of the era, such as Shakespeare's "Hamlet," depicts secular philosophical struggles with topics such as individuality, death and morality."
