The scientists are not sure how such huge and heavy blocks were transported to the top of the pyramid, but they are pretty sure that they were transported as huge pieces: otherwise we would be seeing the cracks in the blocks today. One method would be wetting the sand in front of the giant sled they used to pull the blocks which would make it easier to pull. rolling the stones on top of logs is another way.
