1. -12 x -5

A negative multiplied by a negative will equal a positive answer. So:

12x5= 60.

To do this without a calculator, first do

5x10= 50, then

5x2=10.

50+10= 60.

2. True or False: 27= 3 x 3^3

First find out what 3 cubed is. That means 3x3x3. Since 3x3=9, and 9x3= 27, the 3 cubed is 27.

But you still need to multiply by 3 yet! 27x3=81.

So this question is false.

3. True or False: (-) / (+) = (-)

A negative divided by a positive is indeed negative. So this is true.

Tuesday:

1. 18+ (-16)

Like before, a negative and positive equal a negatvie. So the question is really asking: 18-16 = 2.

2. 18/ -3

Again, positive divided by a negative (or the other way around) will equal a negative. So 18/3=6, and add the negative sign, so the answer is -6.

3. (-5)(6)(-7)

When a negative is multiplied by a positive, the answer is negative. But, if the negative is multiplied by another negative, the answer is positive. So the answer here is positive.

(5)(6)(7)

=30 x 7

=210

1. (-)(-)(-)

When two negatives are multiplied, the answer is a positive. But when multiplied by another negative, the answer becomes negative once again.

2. -(4^2)= -16  

This answer is true. 4 squared is 16, and becomes negative because of the negative sign in front of the 4 squared.

3. -50+20

This is almost like asking 50-20 = 30. But because we are going towards 0 from the negative range, the answer will be negative.

+3-3=0

So the answer is just -5
