Mouths full of laughter, the turistas come to the tall hotel with suitcases full of dollars. Every morning my brother makes the

cool beach new for them. With a wooden board he smooths away all footprints. I peek through the cactus fence and watch the women rub oil sweeter than honey into their arms and legs while their children jump waves or sip drinks from long straws, coconut white, mango yellow. Once my little sister ran barefoot across the hot sand for a taste. My mother roared like the ocean, "No. No. It's their beach. It's their beach." —"Fences," Pat Mora Which phrases from the poem are examples of imagery? Check all that apply. “every morning my brother makes” “he smooths / away all footprints” “the women rub oil / sweeter than honey” “children jump waves / or sip drinks” “once my little sister”

Imagery refers to the use of vivid and descriptive language that authors use to add depth to their work. The images it creates appeal to the human senses.

In this excerpt, some examples are:

  • <em>"he smooths away all footprints" </em>
  • <em>"the women rub oil sweeter than honey" </em>
  • <em>"Children jump waves, or sip drinks"</em>

What magical arts does the witch of the north possess how does it help dorothy
seraphim [82]

Answer and explanation:

The Witch of the North is a good witch in the Oz stories by L. Frank Baum. <u>She has a magic hat which, when balanced upon her nose, gives her the power of divination. She can also teleport herself, transform things into completely different objects, or even animals and people, and cast a protective spell. Even though she is not as powerful as other witches, she still helps Dorothy by kissing her on the forehead. That kiss works as a protection from harm. It is the reason why Dorothy is not attacked by  the Winged Monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the West.</u>
