What are the x- and y- intercepts for the line y−3=3(x+5)

The y intercept is found when you substitute a zero for x. y-3=3(0+5) would find the y intercept. when you solve that you find that the y intercept is 18. The x intercept is the other way around, and when you do it, you find out that the x intercept is -6.

Which of the x values are solutions to the inequality 4(2 – x) > –2x – 3(4x + 1)? Check all that apply.
steposvetlana [31]
4(2 - x) > -2x - 3(4x + 1)
8 - 4x > -2x - 12x - 3
-4x + 2x + 12x > -3 - 8
10x > -11
x > -11/10
x > -1.1

Therefore, x = 0 and x = 10 zre solutions to the inequality.

What is 15 tens - 1 gross
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A gross is equal to 120 ones or ten dozen

what is 15 tens - 1 gross

we know that

15 tens means ----> That you are adding 10, 15 times or multiplying 10 by 15, which gives you

10(15)=150

1 gross means ---> That you are adding 10, 12 times or multiplying 10 by 12

which gives you

10(12)=120

so

The algebraic expression of 15 tens - 1 gross is equal to

150-120=30

Krista's mom has told her she needs to make the pen ½ the size that she had planned (5 feet long by 4 ½ feet wide). What will th
saw5 [17]

Answer:

1. area of new pen = 11 \frac{1}{4} ft^{2}

2. i. 5 feet by 2\frac{1}{4} feet

ii. 2 ½ feet by 4 ½ feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The size of the pen as planned = 5 ft long by 4 ½ ft wide

Area of the pen = length x width

                           = 5 x 4 ½

                           = 5 x \frac{9}{2}

Area of the pen = \frac{45}{2}

                           = 22 ½ ft^{2}

But, Krista has to make the pen ½ the size of planned. So that;

area of new pen = ½ x 22 ½

        = ½ x \frac{45}{2}

        = \frac{45}{4}

        = 11 \frac{1}{4}

area of new pen = 11 \frac{1}{4} ft^{2}

The area of the new pen would be 11 \frac{1}{4} ft^{2}.

The possible values she could use are:

i. 5 feet by 2\frac{1}{4} feet

ii. 2 ½ feet by 4 ½ feet

Point A is at (-5, -4) and point M is at (0, -3.5).
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

The coordinates of point B are (5,-3)

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The formula to calculate the midpoint between two points is equal to

M=(\frac{x_1+x_2}{2},\frac{y_1+y_2}{2})

In this problem

Point A is at (-5, -4) and point M is at (0, -3.5)

point\ A=(x_1,y_1)\\point\ B=(x_2,y_2)\\point\ M=(0,-3.5)

substitute in the formula

(0,-3.5)=(\frac{-5+x_2}{2},\frac{-4+y_2}{2})

so

Solve for x_2

0=\frac{-5+x2}{2}\\x_2=5

Solve for y_2

-3.5=\frac{-4+y_2}{2}\\-7=-4+y_2\\y_2=-3

therefore

The coordinates of point B are (5,-3)
