The correct answer is: introns

Processing of mRNA is process that occurs only in eukaryotic cells. After the transcription, newly formed mRNA molecule is called and it must be processed into a messenger RNA (mRNA). Processing includes:

• Addition of a 5' cap to the beginning of the RNA

• Polyadenilation- addition of a poly-A tail (tail of A nucleotides) to the end of the RNA

• Splicing- removal of introns and linking the exons

After these steps mRNA is mature and used for the further steps (e.g. translation).

Sometimes some genes are alternatively spliced.

At what stage is the DNA in the nucleus of the cell, loosely coiled?
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

DNA is found in the nucleus of a cell in two different forms, depending on whether or not the cell is going through mitosis (cell division). When a cell is not going through mitosis, DNA is in a long, loosely coiled form called chromatin.

Which of the following ecological roles is/are played by at least some fungi? Select all that apply.A) AutotrophyB) PredationC)
Aneli [31]

The correct answers are:

B) Predation;

C) Decomposition;

The fungi are found in many different forms, and they practice numerous styles of life. The fungi can be considered as organisms that are decomposing. They are actually the main living organisms that take advantage of the decomposing organisms, but they too find themselves in a situation where they decompose once their life is over. Also, some fungi, around 150 species from what is known so far, are actually predators. They are feeding on nematode worms. They have developed ways to trap the worms, or just simply snag them with an adhesive that sticks to them.

The fungi though can not be considered as autotrophs. The reason for that is that they are not producers, but instead they use the producers as food source, thus making them heterotrophs.

Phospholipids are found in plasma membranes. are water-soluble. contain subunits called amino acids. are fat-soluble vitamins. a
KengaRu [80]

The correct option is (A). Are found in Plasma membrane

Phospholipids are the major constituent of the plasma membrane.

What are phospholipids' primary purposes?

 • The primary component of the plasma membrane is phospholipids. They are made up of fatty acid chains joined to a glycerol or other similar backbone, just like fats.
 • The glycerol backbone's third carbon is bonded to a phosphate group, hence there are only two fatty acids connected as opposed to three.
 • An alcohol is added to the phosphate group to change it. Both hydrophilic and hydrophobic areas can be found in phospholipids. While the phosphate is hydrophilic and interacts with water, the fatty acid chains are hydrophobic and keep themselves away from it.
 • A membrane with a bilayer of phospholipids surrounds each cell. The phosphate group can face either the outside environment or the inside of the cell, both of which are watery, as opposed to the fatty acids of phospholipids, which face within, away from water.
