What is the slope of the line in the graph?

Answer:

Slope = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

While there are multiple methods to deducing slope, the one I used for this equation is y/x. Starting at the y-intercept, draw a line up as many increments until you align horizontally with another point. Then, draw a line horizontally (towards the line) until you meet that point. Continue this pattern up the line. Each movement will fall in a patterned number, such as 3 up and 1 left or right. 'Up' becomes 'Y' as you are moving on the y-axis, and 'horizontally' or 'left/right' becomes 'X' as you are moving on the x-axis. Pull these numbers into the fraction y/x. If the fraction equals a whole number, translate the fraction into that number. If not, keep it in fraction form (such as 1/3 or 1/4). In this instance, it would become 3/1 and then 3. This number is now your slope.

Here I attached the same practice to your graph (in desmos) and showed how it becomes 1/1 and then 1.

Ugo [173]

Gradient is the slope, which is the letter m in the equation.

The point is written as (x1, y1) so replace x1 and y1 in the equation with the numbers in the given point.

A would be y - 1= 2(x-4)

B: y +5 = 5(x-2)

C: y-1= -3(x+1)

D: y -6 = 1/2(x-1)

E: y +1/4 = -2(x-3:4)

F: y+7 = -1/5(x+ 3)

Answer:

Distance traveled by the snowball  = 45feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance traveled by the snowball = distance of hypothenus for both Right angle triangle

1st pythagoras =

X² = 20² + 15²

X = (20² + 15²)¹/² = 25 feet

2nd pythagoras =

X² = 16² + 12²

X = (16² + 12²)¹/² = 20 feet

Distance traveled by the snowball = 20 + 25 = 45feet
