What is the Pythagorean Theorem?

The PyTheorem states that -- actually, why not just simplify things and make it a formula?

a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2}
where a and b are legs of a triangle and c is the hypotenuse of a triangle.

It is only true applying to right triangles.
Now what are the legs of a triangle?
The sides that are NOT opposite the 90 degree angle!

Now, all you have to do is find the LENGTHS of the three triangles!
Rise over run, remember?

Let's take the triangle in the top right of the coordinate plane for example.

A=(1,1)
B=(4,4)
unnamed point=(4,1)

Rise, or length of unnamed point to B?
(4,1) to (4,4)
(x,y), remember!
So? 4-1=3!

Run, or length of unnamed point to A?
(1,1) to (4,1)
Remember (x,y)?
So, 4-1=3!

The triangle has legs of 3 and 3.
Square em and add!
9+9=18
\sqrt{18}
\sqrt{3*6}
\sqrt{ 3^{2} *2}
3 \sqrt{2}

That's for length of AB!!
Now do the same for the remaining lengths!

Hope this helps!

lana [24]

Answer:

  30

Step-by-step explanation:

The midpoint of BC will be a distance from line k that is the average of the distances of B and C: (17+13)/2 = 15. Call that midpoint P. We know distance MP is half of distance MA. This same relationship will hold with respect to the distances from P and A to any line through M. That is, the distance from line k (through M) is twice the distance from P to line k: 30 units.

What do u mean by Trigonometry ?

Trigonometry (from Greek trigōnon, "triangle" and metron, "measure") is a branch of mathematics that studies relationships between side lengths and angles of triangles. The field emerged in the Hellenistic world during the 3rd century BC from applications of geometry to astronomical studies. The Greeks focused on the calculation of chords, while mathematicians in India created the earliest-known tables of values for trigonometric ratios (also called trigonometric functions) such as sine.

Throughout history, trigonometry has been applied in areas such as geodesy, surveying, celestial mechanics, and navigation.

Trigonometry is known for its many identities. These trigonometric identities are commonly used for rewriting trigonometrical expressions with the aim to simplify an expression, to find a more useful form of an expression, or to solve an equation.

Hope it helps!

topjm [15]
Pretty simple equation, where we need to find the number of books. If it is 2$ each day per book
72/9 = 8$ per day is the late fee paid
So if each book is 2$, then we can assume
8/2 = 4 books

So equation is
“# books = (amount paid)/(days * per day payment)”
