The advantages of mechanical harvesting were:

(i) They allowed big farmers to rapidly clear large tracts, breakup the soil, remove the grass and prepare the ground for cultivation.

(ii) These machines reduced dependence on labour and increased efficiency. With power driven machinery four men could plough, seed and harvest 2,000 to 4,000 acres of wheat in a season.

(iii) The machines helped increase production by bringing virgin land under cultivation, to meet the growing demands of urban dwellers and the export market.

Disadvantages:

The disadvantages of mechanical harvesting were:

(i) For poor farmers machines brought misery. Machines reduced dependence on labour leading to unemployment. For many a poor it became difficult to find jobs.

(ii) Many farmers who bought machines on loans, thinking the boom would last, faced hard times once the boom ended by 1920s. They faced difficulty in paying back lo Some were driven to take the extreme step of abandoning farms.

(iii) Production had expanded so rapidly that during the post war years, when the export market collapsed and wheat prices fell farmers were left with large surpluses and overflowing store houses.

(iv) Extensive cultivation made feasible by machines resulted in the Great Agrarian, Depression of the 1930s, which ruined wheat farmers everywhere.

(v) In discretionary use of machines ruined the entire landscape resulting in ecological disbalance. Periods of plenty were followed by droughts. Ordinary dust storms became black blizzards. The American dream of land of plenty turned into a nightmare.

Why did it take so long for an active civil rights movement to begin in the LGBT community?
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

The adaptation of the laws was significantly delayed with respect to sociocultural development. The equalization of homosexuals was part and consequence of a liberalization of sexuality with respect to cultural traditions, which have been losing importance during the twentieth century and that gave way to the concept of individual sexual freedom. The emancipation of homosexuals began in the USA. UU. during world war II. Important milestones along the way were the study Male sexual behavior (1948) by Alfred Kinsey, the foundation of the Mattachine Society (1950), the civil rights movement (1955-1968), some of whose promoters would later become activists homosexuals, the Stonewall riots (1969), the creation of fighting organizations, such as the Gay Liberation Front (1969), the elimination of homosexuality from the catalog of diseases of the Psychiatric Association of the United States (1973), the reorientation of the movement gay during the AIDS crisis (since 1981), the inclusion of minorities, such as transsexuals (since the 1990s), and the struggle for gay marriage in the 21st century.

kherson [118]

Beta waves, which have a high frequency and low amplitude, are frequently seen in awake people. They have a stimulating effect and are engaged in conscious and logical thought.

Let us discuss beta waves in detail

Focus is made possible when there are enough beta waves in our brains. The prominence of this wave produces anxiety, high arousal, an inability to relax, and tension, whereas its suppression can contribute to ADHD, daydreaming, sadness, and poor cognition. Beta waves aid with conscious focus, memory, and problem-solving under ideal circumstances. These waves can be categorized into three different groups.

 • Low beta waves (12–15 Hz), referred to as "beta one" waves, are mostly linked to quiet, inward-looking attention.
 • Beta two waves, or mid-range beta waves (15–20 Hz), are linked to energy, anxiety, and performance increases.
 • High beta waves (18–40 Hz), also referred to as "beta three" waves, are connected to high levels of stress, anxiety, paranoia, vigour, and arousal.
