The passage is from the third stanza of the poem when he sat there looking at the flowers and the lake. And he admits that this image can only make a "<em>poet [....] gay</em>", meaning he can't help feeling happy. This use of "company" in the fourth line of the third stanza refers to his feeling of contentment when among the daffodils.
