If I was in this position I would say people should vote me as president because I'm a leader and I put people's needs first ahead of my own and care for my school or country. If this was in school I would say, if u vote for me I will remove homework, have better cafeteria food, have fun each day, and add vending machines. Right before his longer speech, the Friar says "Myself condemned and myself excused." He is telling everyone the whole story of how it all happened, but his motivation is a bit conflicted. He knows that telling them everything will possibly get him into trouble, as he did all of it without anyone's permission, but also he thinks that being honest will free him from any punishment.
