Let x be the price of the notebook. Let y be the price of the pen.

2x+y=7
x+5y=8

The equation x+5y=8 is the equivalent to 2x+10y=16.

Subtract the equation 2x+y=7 from 2x+10y=16 to get

9y=9

Divide each side by 9.

y=1.

Since 1 notebook and 5 pens in $8, and each pen is $1, 5 pens is $5.

Therefore, 1 notebook costs $3 because 8-5=3.

Answer:

3j + 3m + 21

Step-by-step explanation:

Normally, they would each travel 3 miles, so the total would normally be 3j + 3m. However, for today, Jared ran another 21 miles, so 21 miles is added to the total.

Total distance = 3j + 3m + 21

How are exponential functions related to logarithmic functions?
Model that with an example.
scoundrel [369]
Exponential functions are related to logarithmic functions in that they are inverse functions. Exponential functions move quickly up towards a [y] infinity, bounded by a vertical asymptote (aka limit), whereas logarithmic functions start quick but then taper out towards an [x] infinity, bounded by a horizontal asymptote (aka limit).
If we use the natural logarithm (ln) as an example, the constant "e" is the base of ln, such that:
ln(x) = y, which is really stating that the base (assumed "e" even though not shown), that:
{e}^{y} = x
if we try to solve for y in this form it's nearly impossible, that's why we stick with ln(x) = y
but to find the inverse of the form:
{e}^{y} = x
switch the x and y, then solve for y:
{e}^{x} = y
So the exponential function is the inverse of the logarithmic one, f(x) = ln x

sineoko [7]

Answer:

Angle A is 29 degress Angle B is 61 Angle C is 90

Side AB is 5.8 Side BC is 2.8 and Side AC is 5.1

Step-by-step explanation:

Angle A is found using triangle interior theorem.

I found side AC by using law of sines

b/sin b= c/sin c

x/sin 61= 5.8/sin 90( which equal 1)

x=5.1

I found side BC by using pythagoren theorem.

a^2 + b^2=c^2

5.1^2+ b^2=5.8^2

26.01+b^2=36.64

b^2=7.63

b=approx 2.8.

Complete the square:
x2 - 6x + 9=-13+ blank
kvasek [131]

Answer:

to complete the square, you add (b/2)^2 on both side. in this case, b is -6, half of -6 is -3, -3 squared is 9, so:

x^2-6x+9=-13+9

(x-3)^2=-4

This quadratic equation have unreal solutions
