The imperial name Qin Shi Huangdi translated into First Emperor of Qin as per Jeffrey Riegel.

Explanation:

Qin Shi Huang (Qin Shi Huangdi) whose birth name was Zhao Zheng or Ying Zheng. He was born as the prince of Qin state and became the king at the age of 13. He was the only ruler in China who vanquished the other opponent states and made them as unified China.

He wanted to be called as emperor (Huangdi) rather than being called as king (wáng). His father Qin prince Yiren was the first emperor who impregnated a woman called Zhao who introduced as a dancer to him by Lü Buwei (a rich merchant). Then she called Lady Zhao and she gave birth to Zheng. Yet Lü Buwei gave with the regent role after Yiren's death.

He wrote Lüshi Chunqiu which was translated by Jeffrey Riegel and John Knoblock as Spring and Autumn Annals. In the translation, he mentioned him as the First Emperor of Qin. Meanwhile, shi represents the beginning and Huangdi represents Emperor.
