Sometimes spelling reform works in reverse, making spelling less phonetic. The words doubt and debt were borrowed from French as

douse and det (or dette), but a new awareness of their Latin origins led scholars to insert a b in each to reflect their etymologies.

The role of women in literature and culture. 50-70 words.
morpeh [17]
Women’s roles in literature has evolved throughout history and had lead women to develop into strong independent roles. Modern literature has served as an outlet and sounding board for women’s rights and feminist pioneers. Female writers have come to the fore front and provided today’s readers with a vast array of ethnic and cultural perspectives. The unique voice of female minorities is a common theme in many coming of age novels that allows each writer to establish a separate identity for their characters and themselves. Women in modern literature often include strong independent females juxtaposed by oppressed women to provide examples for young female readers and to critique short comings of our society. The emergence of the independent female novelist in America has allowed for a new evolution of the role of women in fictional literature.

The Song of Seikilos is what type of sound? Question 2 options: Polyphony Monophony Homophony Photography
tatuchka [14]

Answer: Monophony

Explanation:

The Song of Seikilos is a Greek inscription written on a marble column found in 1883 inside a tomb located in the current city of Aydin (Turkey, Asia Minor).  According to the research, it is dated approximately between the 1st and the 2nd century A.D.

In addition, it is known this epitaph was dedicated to Euterpe by her husband Sycilus after her death; and the translation in english is as follows:

<em>"While you live, shine </em>

<em>have no grief at all  </em>

<em>life exists only for a short while </em>

<em>and time demands an end."</em>

Another important thing to note about this song, is that it is monophonic, which means it is composed of a single melody that may be accompanied by an instrument (a lyre or a zither, for example).

In fact, Greek music of these ages was  characterized by being monophonic.
