Answer:The first one: how many g's are in 38

Step-by-step explanation:

What is g of 48? The term "of" implies multiplication

The total of g and 48? This may not be as obvious, but that's implying addition.

How much more than g is 48? The phrase "how much more than" implies subtraction

KIM [24]

Answer:

A. a) 24

A. b) 4

B. a) 40320

B. b) 576

Step-by-step explanation:

General formula for Permutations:

P(n,r) = \frac{n!}{(n - r)!}

A. Concert seats:  2 couple --- total of 4 persons.

a) without restrictions

Since there are no restrictions, but that the order is important (John, Mary, Paul, Michelle isn't the  same as Michelle, Mary, Paul, John), it's a permutation calculation.

Then we calculate the permutations of 4, out of 4, so...

P(4,4) = \frac{4!}{(4 - 4)!} = 4! = 24

24 different ways for them to sit.

b) couples together

Now, we can see the problem as having 2 levels of permutations, first the couples, then inside the couples.

There are 2 ways for the first level or order... couples AB or BA, so 2 possibilities.

Inside each couple, man then woman (MW) or woman then man (WM), so 2 possibilities there too on 2nd level.

Overall 2 * 2 = 4 ways to sit by couple.

B) Single file

a) without restrictions

Again, order is important, so another permutation, not a combination.  And since we have no restriction, it can be any sequence.

We then have to calculate the number of permutations of 8 out of 8...

P(8,8) = \frac{8!}{(8 - 8)!} = 8! = 40320

There are 40,320 ways these 8 kids can pass the door.

b) girls first.

So, the four girls have to enter first.... and these four girls can be in any order.. how many permutations? P(4,4)... so 24 as calculated above.

For the four boys, how many permutations?  Yes, again P(4,4)... so 24 again.

Overall, we need to multiply the two... 24 x 24 = 576 ways if the girls enter first, followed by the boys.

Jorge’s printer can print 36 pages in 18 minutes. How many pages can it print in 1 hour
Sloan [31]

Answer:

120 pages can be printed in 1 hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

First divide 36 by 18 to figure out how many pages can be printed in a minute.

Like this: 36 pages ÷ 18 minutes = 2 pages in one minute.

Now, multiply 2 by 60 to figure out how many pages can be printed out in a hour.

Like this: 2 pages in one minute × 60 minutes ( one hour) = 120 pages in one hour can be printed.

Hope this helps!

The diameter of a cylindrical construction pipe is 6 ft. If the pipe is 26 ft long, what is its volume?
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the area of the circular base. The diameter is 6, so the radius is 3.

A circle is pi r square, so it is 3.14 x 3^2, = 28.26

Multiply that by the length 28.26 x 26 = 734.76, which rounds to 735 cubic feet.

Look at the figure shown below:
boyakko [2]

These are the steps, with their explanations and conclusions:

1) Draw two triangles: ΔRSP and ΔQSP.

2) Since PS is perpendicular to the segment RQ, ∠ RSP and ∠ QSP are equal to 90° (congruent).

3) Since S is the midpoint of the segment RQ, the two segments RS and SQ are congruent.

4) The segment SP is common to both ΔRSP and Δ QSP.

5) You have shown that the two triangles have two pair of equal sides and their angles included also equal, which is the postulate SAS: triangles are congruent if any pair of corresponding sides and their included angles are equal in both triangles.

Then, now you conclude that, since the two triangles are congruent, every pair of corresponding sides are congruent, and so the segments RP and PQ are congruent, which means that the distance from P to R is the same distance from P to Q, i.e. P is equidistant from points R and Q

Anyone know the answers to this ?!
torisob [31]

Answer:

Hey there!

3 x 5/4 = 3 x 5 ÷ 4 = 5 x 3 ÷ 4

5 x 4/3 = 5 x 4 ÷ 3 = 4 x 5 ÷ 3

4 x 3/5 = 4 x 3 ÷ 5 = 4 x 3 ÷ 5

Hope this helps :)
